Passage: TBD

The series will be about the three 'graces:' Faith, Hope, and Love. We will study how, as believers, we were all gifted (graced) these virtues. Normally we don't identify these three virtues as gifts, but God gives them to all believers. Bobby introduced the series, the verse he taught on is 1 Corinthians 13:13. This is the verse that will thread the entire series. We are going to dedicate one L2L Sunday to Faith, 2 services to Hope, and 2 services to Love.

Join us as the series continues on grace of Hope. There will be 2 L2Ls that wrap up the year and will be on the grace of Love.

If anyone is interested, please contact Stash John [sjohn1281@gmail.com] by November 16th so that they have a head count of who will be coming. We encourage everyone to help out this great cause to raise awareness of the persecution in India. Please, continue to pray about this rally!

We got an email from Jeena James about a rally in Chicago against the persecution in Orissa. Please read below and if interested, you can also contact Jeena James.

My name is Jeena James and I am helping out a cause called "Stop the Hate: 11-28", which will take place on November 28th, day after Thanksgiving, also known as Black Friday. Most of you may be aware of the religious persecution happening in Orissa, India. There are many people who do not know abou this tragedy that is happening in India.

Therefore to raise awareness we are holding a peaceful protest/rally in downtown Chicago, on Michigan Ave. There will be many people who will be shopping that day, and so we will be marching with signs that have Bible verses, and handing out pamphlets about the tragedy, and passing out coffee to strangers. We are trying to get in contact with people from other major cities, who would like to be involved in the cause. Basically we would like Novemeber 28th to be a day where people from all backgrounds come together to stand up and be a voice for those in India.

I am contacting the youth leaders of Chicago to participate in this event, we want to come together as a community who love God, and want others to see his love through us. Along with this e-mail I am sending you a Stop the Hate flyer, which has some more information.

We also have a website www.stopthehate1128.com which you can visit, and which will have more infomration in the coming days. Please feel free to contact me, Jeena, (jeenagjames@gmail.com) if you have any questions about the event. I would really appreciate it if you can get back to me as soon as possible, and let me know if you would like to take action with us. Thank You for your time, and I hope to hear from all of you soon.

Binil's Memorial Education Fund

In Binil's memory, a fund has been created to support the needs of the Navjeevan Center, a ministry that was close to Binil's heart. Please take a look at this letter and prayerfully consider partnering in this kingdom work through your donations. Please continue to pray for his family and friends as they struggle to celebrate his life without him. Our community deeply misses our brother, and he will never be forgotten. Let's remember Binil's life, but above all continue the work God has set before us for His glory

Ministries:

L2L

L2L services have begun in 2007. Our contemporary worship services are held on 2nd and 4th Sundays of every month, beginning at 7:30am. Join us early in the morning to worship our Lord and hear his Word spoken through a variety of speakers.

Chapter29

No more Friday Night Sing? Well, its under a new name now, Chapter29. Our picture of an ideal church is given in the book of Acts immediately following the ressurection of christ. We have a desire that the church in Acts does not simply end with the 28th chapter, but that we will be the next chapter: Chapter29. Chapter29 is held on the 2nd and 4th Fridays of every month at 7:30pm. Listen to the Word given through Anil Thomas, Jerry Mathaikutty, and Ben Oommen, and join us for a wonderful time of fellowship and growth.

24/7

We are reviving revival prayer!! So mark the Wednesdays on your calendars...get ready to pray for a stirring in the Indian community, within the Indian churches in the Chicagoland area and most importantly in your own hearts. Everyone is welcome!! 24/7 is scheduled to be on Wednesdays of the month unless otherwise noted and currently is being held at Chicago Mar Thoma Church. Please check the website for any changes to the dates/time or location. If any questions about 24/7 feel free to talk to Aby Koshy.

Dr. Mary Abraham, mother of Melvy and Ivy and who was a member of our sister church, St. Thomas Mar Thoma Church suffered from a severe asthma attack on the morning of October 10th and passed away within the last hour. Please take the time to cover Melvy, Ivy and the rest of their family in prayer. Pray that God may the family strength and comfort during this time.

CMTC's New Achen will be coming in May 2009 and it is never too early to start praying for him and his family. Please take the time to pray that our new achen may be a strong leader and that can help lead our church to become more and more a place where God can be blessed and praised.
Please continue to pray for our Daniel Achen and his family, who has been such a blessing to our church and community, as he continues his ministry at our church.

9/11 Families, will be mourning their loss. If the Spirit reminds you, please pray for the families that were impacted by 9/11. It's been 7 years...we all can remember where we were when it happened and what was running through our minds during those weeks. Although God's purpose might not be known but be comforted in the fact that there was purpose in it. Give praise to God that he has been keeping us safe and be reminded that we need to pray for this country as much as other countries. God is still good...

Persecution in India, there are many things that happen in this world that we don't know about but if we did..would that lead us to Pray for the conditions? Purpose of some of these prayers to to make you all aware that we need prayer and we need to pray. This prayer request is to give a bigger picture of things, looking beyond what we just see around and clear across what is happening in this world. There are a lot of Christians being killed in India. Pray this will lead you to pray for this world, our communities...here's a glimpse:

Eugene Yohannan, as many of you know already, is a member of St. Gregorios - Oak Park, suffers from severe kidney failure and has been battling with this condition for a majority of his life. We have been asking you to pray for him and his family that they continue to depend on Christ for their strength and hope during this time.

Eugene's Update [08.23.08]:
We write this message to all of you with joy in our hearts and praise on our lips! Countless hours of surgery had forced him to go into dialysis in the past few months, but the Lord has remained faithful to Eugene in his time of need.
A kidney was found for Eugene and we received news that he went into surgery at 2:30pm Thursday afternoon in Minnesota. Although there were many complications, he is now recovering in the ICU. By no means is it over. Post operative recovery is critical for Eugene right now. We ask you to continue to pray for Eugene. We ask that you give praise to God for what He alone has done and ask that He continue to watch over his child during his recovery. Lift prayers for his family as well as all the people who are caring for him.

Very Rev Fr. Koshy Poovathur Corepiscopa has passed away on August 11, 2008. He is survived by his Kochamma, son Kunju and daughters Mini and Jijan in Chicago. Funeral is being arranged for 18th of August at their house in Edamon. On behalf of CMTC we extend our heartfelt condolences to the family. Let us lift up this family in prayer. May God give the family the strength to withstand their loss.

For the Leaders that they do not get burned out while serving. Pray for the individual ministry leaders, executive committee, Youth Advisory Board, Achens, speakers and many "behind the scenes" leaders. Pray for humblemess and that the joy of the Lord is their strength and nothing else. That they would have eyes to see others as Christ sees them and raise up leaders. Also for more leaders, in general, to step up to the plate [especially for next year]....

"I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone— for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness." - 1Timothy 2:1-2

Jacob Ninan (father of Prahba and Preethi) from Skokie passed away last night at the age of 62. Please lift up their family in prayer that God would be their comfort and strength in this extremely difficult time. There will be a Memorial Service at the Chicago Mar Thoma Church at 7pm on Tuesday, July 15, 2008.On Wednesday, July 16, 2008, there will be a Wake from 3pm-9pm at Colonial-Wojciechow ski Funeral Home located at 8025 W Golf Rd, Niles, IL 60714. Funeral will be held in India.

Binil Samuel was a member and great leader in the CMTC Youth Fellowship, and his passing has taken a toll on the entire community. Pray for strength and understanding, as well as comfort, as we all mourn and press forward through this difficult time. Please lift up prayers specifically for his family as they are coping with this loss.

Ruby needs our prayer. The prayers of her church, family, and friends have been heard and God is showing his faithfulness as Ruby shows signs of progress. Be the hands and feet of Jesus and bring love and comfort to the family during this difficult time.

Ashish is a little baby who needs some help. Ashish was recently diagnosed with a rare blood disorder called Infantile Myelo-fibrosis. This disorder is extremely rare and there is no treatment for such patients except for a Bone Marrow Transplant. We are urging everyone in our community to please pray for Ashish and come to a bone marrow drive and see if you can save Ashish's life. There are also hundreds of people in the country who are in need of donated bone marrow, especially from rare Asian donors. Get details at at www.helpsaveashish.com

For the GFA missionaries that we supported. Their names are Salman, Sushil, and Chullimoolayil. Pray that they will use the talents God has given them to bring glory to Him in India. Pray for their health and safety as well.

Would you take a few seconds right now to lift these requests to God? And let us know if there's anything you would like to post on this page.
